We are establishing the Housing Hub in the Bellingen Sustainability Centre – Church St Lane Bellingen.

Currently, the Hub does the following:

  • Facilitate community responses and solutions to the local housing crisis, including supporting applicants to the Royal Freemasons’ Benevolent Institution’s (RFBIs) affordable housing project for single women over 55 in Bellingen. For further assistance please email us at info@housingmatters.org.au or the RFBI directly on enquiries@rfbi.com.au
  • Develop and disseminate tools and resources to help residents interested in housing innovation, such as cohousing and shared ownership models, as well as with natural hazard preparedness, water and energy security, solar passive housing design, landscaping, low-cost environmentally responsible building techniques, and updates on progress in implementing the Bellingen Shire Local Housing Strategy 2020-2040.
  • Undertake local and regional advocacy and policy development platform that helps the government tackle the regional housing crisis.
