The Bellingen Shire News published an article about navigating the Shire’s housing stress on the 22nd November 2023. The article reveals that within the Cowper electorate – comprising the Bellingen, Nambucca and Kempsey Shires – 66.5% of renters are experiencing significant financial stress, and 22% of mortgagors. This places the Bellingen Shire amongst the highest areas in NSW experiencing such stresses.
